How many times have I started writing a newsletter, only not to follow through? I can’t even remember, to be honest. This time I’m making no promises, but my word for 2025 is “SHARE”—so here is a space for me to do so.
Do you pick a word for the year? If you do, how do you go about it? I try to set aside some time to meditate as Advent, the Christian new year, approaches. Today, though, the words “YOU NEED TO WRITE” floated to the top of my brain and I realized what I wanted my word of 2025 to be: SHARE. I want to write and share with my friends what’s going on inside this pretty little head of mine.
I’ve chosen a new title for this newsletter: The Fat Dispatch. Many of you found me because I was writing about faith and fatness, and I still intend to touch on those things. But it’s more than just that. It’s not a blog about being fat, even though because I am fat, everything is infused with my fatness. It’s just a newsletter about being me. And that’s enough. If that’s not for you, I totally get it—feel free to unsubscribe. But if you want to come along for the ride, buckle up!
My tagline for this newsletter is from Julian of Norwich: All shall be well. I just have this new-found confidence that despite all the shite happening in the world, the goodness of God is going to set everything to rights as we journey toward our personal and collective telos.
May God refresh you with God’s goodness.
